Well you must of missed the many full titles shown at Gamescom. Bloodborne, The Order 1886, Hellblade, WILD, Until Dawn, Quantum Break, Silent Hill, MGS V, Middle Earth:Shadow of Moridor, FarCry 4,DayZ, Fable Legends, Infamous SS:First Light
There were big games and small games, enough to go around for just about everybody. I think sometimes people see a lot of indies being shown and immediately dismiss anything else because of their presence. Whether you like them or not, indies are a thing. They are smaller and therefore much cheaper and easier to make. That is why they outstrip big AAA like titles. Its not like just because they are there we are getting less AAA. AAA games do a fine job of dwindling their own numbers due to their high costs and overly long dev cycles.
