You seem a bit confused as to what an indie title is...

The person confused is you, the generally agreed upon view of what an indie games is, is not "game made by an independent studio"

This is the definition that Wikipedia uses for example:

"Independent video games (commonly referred to as indie games) are video games created by individuals or small teams generally without video game publisher financial support. Indie games often focus on innovation and rely on digital distribution. Indie gaming has seen a rise in the latter half of the 2000s decade, primarily due to new online distribution methods and development tools."

So no, a $60 retail game created by an independent studio backed by a huge publisher is not an indie game.

Uh huh. Just like how ProjectCars isn't an indie game because Namco is distributing their title. Just like how Minecraft wasn't an indie game when it was published by Microsoft - despite the fact that both Mojang and Microsoft called the game "indie" before the game exploded into what it is today.

The publisher has little to do with whether a game is indie or not.

Jesus you're riding yourself even further into this, it's starting to not even be funny anymore

Project Cars is distributed by Namco, but published by the Studio itself, the game is funded through community donations.

And Minecraft was made and funded by Mojang, Microsoft only published the freaking Xbox version, the game itself was very much created according to the definition of an indie game.

So your examples are really brilliant, dude. Just give it up, you're making up some serious bullshit here. When a games' development is fully funded by a publisher then there is nothing independent about it, how you refuse to accept that is mindboggling.
