Because you need the D-pad in SSB? Also its the same controller, "The Same". Why would they just change it, i dont think anybody thought they would be changing anything O.o

If got a chance to fix it, why not?  People might use the controller for old GC games.

It doesn't need fixing though, especially for SSB only.
