That's the thing though, the author himself didn't include the shipping, at least not to the extent that Madhouse did. In the novels, it's pretty obvious that nothing major will come from their relationship, since Tatsuya only loves Miyuki as a sister, even if she feels differently.

Madhouse ran with the relationship and butchered it. Now, it's just downright creepy at some parts.
