I almost loathed the original Fate/Stay because it was so boring and stupid. The remake can only be better but I don't expect too much. It might be something if the team of Fate/Kaleid is on it.

I don't really care for Mushishi. Never looked into it and probably won't ever care unless I run out of other stuff to watch.

I watched the first two double episodes of the renewed series of this season but it had to be cut due to other priorities. It's by no means bad but it hasn't really anything that would draw me in. I might pick it up again now that I cleared my schedule somewhat.

It seems conceited of me to always prey on people who only watch good stuff and reject everything else to be the one who rejects obviously good animes like Mushishi and Psycho Pass. Problem is I don't have the time and I have other priorities.

I'm currently watching 24 ongoing animes which has been kinda the norm over the past seasons so I have to pick carefully what to watch. That's why I usually settle for everything that immediately piques my interest or has been recommended to me. With that comes the trend of preferring lighter animes over serious dramas.

Skimming over the list there might be about 15 animes I will watch that have a low drop chance but none of these are of the "MUST WATCH" caliber.

For comparison, this season had 2, last season had 5 and last winter had 6.

Cant defend the first Fate Stay Night (in fact i fell asleep trying to watch it the first time...) but to tell the truth it had its moments (i really liked the finall battle and even the ending but i get why most people didnt like it), that being said did you ever watched Fate Zero the prequel to Fate Stay Night?, because unlike the old Fate that one was made by Ufotable and its GREAT. (seriously its really good).

The new Fate Stay Night is also being done by Ufotable and chances are that its gonna be just as good (if not better than Fate Zero), so you should really watch it...

you said that you liked Fate Kaleid, well Fate Zero and the new Fate Stay Night have the same (or a higher) production quality, (you remember that Ilya Archer battle versus Alter Saber? then imagine that kind of battles on both Fate Zero and Stay Night), also part of what made the first Fate Stay Night so boring was its  pacing which Ufotable fixed in Fate/Zero and more than likely now on the new series.

open a space on your schedule and give Fate/Zero a chance, and if you like it then you can keep watching more with the new Fate Stay Night.
