Former Nintendo Indie boss says "The name Wii U is abysmal"

Wii U is an awful name, but really it's not like "Wii" was all that great to begin with.

I think XBox One is even worse ... if you don't know anything about the two systems and I said XBox 360 and XBox 1 a person could easily confuse the 360 as being the successor rather than the predecessor.
