What does this mean for my dream of getting a Ni No Kuni sequel???

It wasn't much of a sales success so if anything it contributed to the downfall of the studio, and probably isn't an IP that someone else will pick up and continue, sadly.

For what it is I'd say it was a huge sales success, how many JRPGs still break a million nowadays? The Tales series hasn't done it in forever and still seems to be quite healthy.

Ni No Kuni on PS3 could have been a bit more successful in Japan, but I heard that that didn't perform so well because all the marketing was spend on the DS version, which has sold over 500k over there. I think a sequel could be very lucrative and I'd love it if Sony chipped in to make this dream of mine a reality.
