I think they got too much media coverage over the past few years.
1. There are gazillions of them and if each of them only gets one article, you gonna have a hard time finding anything about a game from one of the bigger publishers.
2. They are too insignificant. The vast vast majority won't get anywhere close to meaningful sales, but they still get full coverage. That's totally alright for a website whose only purpose is to write about indie stuff, but the rest of the gaming media should really calm down and filter out the ones that aren't going to get big anyway.Half of the indies shown during the MS and Sony E3 press conference weren't even worth showing to the millions watching.
