Well. his rebuttal is more "fail" than your post actually. He tries some lingual ventures that he simply does not understand; in this case the "that is not something to say, let alone think".
The latter would mark the thing below which you cannot under any cirsumstance do/say so his sentence should be; "That is not a wise ting to think, let alone say".
He may think you a noob (and I kinda agree, it was a stange statement) but he seems to be a noob as well when it comes to English, or simple debating for that matter.
