What's pretty funny to me is the all "of course its gonna get good reviews because it got good scores last year" comments. It stands to reason that after a year of playing the game, had the game not had significant improvements it would have been rated heavily and gotten a much more average score.

It would have been rated slightly lower but I wouldn't say it would get an average score. Rayman Legends rated similarly on last gen and current gen systems but there were very few differences between both versions. Every single version looked extremely similar as well so its not like the game looked much better on current gen consoles. 

Fair enough. Although, I would add its high metacritic is indicative of its high quality. Only Nintendo games score this high after all.
