LOL please, they have never ciome close to making money off xbox, what they made ina  couple years on 360 is not close to recuperating overall what the division has lost.

True. Analyst Rick Sherlund who is very close to Microsoft and highly respected in the field stated that the xbox divison has lost billions. It is all hidden within patents.

Sherlund is a good friend of Bill gates and wouldn't say such things if it wasn't true as it would harm his career.

People that believe different are ... whatever.

Regardless of what Nadella says many investors are asking for the divison to be dropped.

There was an investor on TV saying that personally he'd rather MS not have anything to do with violent video games which in the future could affect their image... but that's just his opinion.

So the burden of evidence is to prove they are NOT losing money on XBox, when the division is in fact making money? Yeah, backwards logic right there.

What we know is the following: the division containing XBox was making a profit even before Android entered the market and before XBLG grew to those levels we have now. We can assume XBLG generates a large profit, as does the royalties from Android patents. What has been added since those days? Surface and Lumia. Those are most likely the ones generating losses at the moment but are future investments, just like the original XBox was.

All Rick Sherlund has said is that he estimates that Android patents generate 2B in revenue, but he doesn´t know. Yet we DO know the division generated profit before Android, so those are the evidence we can go by. So why is it so important for you to belive an estimate and rumors, not the facts we have at the table?
