I think you are spot on about everything except the bolded part. There is no quantitative reason why the PS3 is better than the other two consoles, but there are quantitative reasons why the other two consoles are better gaming solutions than the PS3. As for the bolded part, I think you have got it the wrong way around. I think a large number of PS3 owners bought their console in the belief that Sony would dominate as they have the past two generations. They either were unaware that this wasn't happening, or convinced it would happen shortly. Such gamers become immensly frustrated when confronted with the Wii's continued dominance and only a minor PS3 week-to-week sales advantage over the 360. Quite aside from the PS3's higher price point, many PS3 owners feel a far greater need to justify their purchase to others, due to the fact that said purchase was made with the anticipation of continued Sony gaming dominance that simply hasn't eventuated. Owners of the 360 and the Wii on the other hand, generally paid less for their console, and bought it knowing full well that dominance was unlikely due to the console's respective predecessors being trounced by the PS2. We should all feel at least some level of sympathy for Sony fanboys due to these points, as it must be incredibly frustrating for them. |
Perhaps, or perhaps i was being diplomatic. People are very quicky to call troll on this site;)
