It didn't for Mario Kart.

Systems and games are different like I said. Plus, calling the game "Mario Kart U" probably would've been better to give the game & system more recognition together.

Again, this is for the uninformed people...not us on VGC. The name DS Delight wouldn't work...at all.

The strategy just isn't a good one IMO. Nintendo is constantly creating new names to seperate from their now no longer popular brands. This allows them to have DS and Wii like success but also causes confusion like the 3DS and Wii U.

This isn't a knock on Nintendo, I'm just asking why they do this. Their sales would be more consistent each gen with a steady brand...
