So, do you feel you're watching life from a seat when people have conversations around you? Just a silly comment for something that simply can enhance storytelling and give characters more depth and personality.

If I am not interacting with the people having the conversation, I am not immersed in their conversation, no. Are you? When I am interacting and making decisions I do feel immersed in the conversation. When Samus is telling me she feels upset because of this and that and I do not feel upset, I do not feel like I am a part of that situation. (And you're saying I'm the one with the silly comment.)

I have no interaction with a game during a cut scene and therefore feel less immersed.

What I'm saying is let me have the reaction. Give me options for things I can tell people. Both of these things immerse me more in a game.

But you're no more immersed reading text. It's just another method of delivery of dialogue. Voice acting just allows you to add emotion. Voice acting =/= cutscenes. You can have zero voice acting and have a ton of cutscenes.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."
