Why isn't it selling well? In the same week in 2007 we had: X360 at 69k and PS3 at 63k. It's outselling easily both of them, just isn't tracking with the Wii, but the Wii was a special case were sales died off in less than 5 years while PS4 will have legs like all of its predecessors. Right now, PS4 still is ahead of the Wii and PS2 on aligned launch data. Even X1 is pretty on par with the sales of the older consoles. And that's with price tags of US$ 400 and 500 while 360 was pretty cheaper.

It's time for people start to accept that it is selling well because it's current sales figures are a industry record for the same time period. How can a console that is at record pace be considered as "selling bad"? This doesn't make any sense.

Edit: Just to add some numbers, we had 360 in same week in 2006 doing 70k while completely alone in the market with zero competition. In 2008 we had both PS3 and 360 doing around 100k in their second and third years, respectively, with a massive library to help. Still, PS4 on par. If this month is like the others and VGC undertacked PS4, then it will be doing even better. Remember that MS talked about 9M PS4s and we probably don't have a lot sitting on shelves so VGC is probably way wrong.


@.@ I've said it was selling well about 30 times already...but just "well" (I clarified this in all my other posts, and notice I said "super well" in my original post). Nothing more nothing less. We know what great sales look like because of the Wii, and we've seen multiple consoles regularly baseline over 100k through the summer for the last 5 years. 100k is good for a first summer, but it isn't anything to brag about.

Once again, I need to point out that excuses like "the Wii was a special case" is exactly the kind of stuff that the OP of this thread is saying is irrelevant....

@Zod: Quit dragging me into your discussion. I don't agree with what you are saying, so quit using my words as some kind of weird foundation for your argument. The PS4 is not doing bad, and I never said it was...
