Just as we shouldn´t discredit PS4 for Selling best this generation, the same goes for Wii. They are both the respective leaders of their generation, and we can talk about the casuals or playstations brand all we want.
We could say that it was an anomaly that PS1 sold in excess of 100 million, that Playstation 2 mainly sold because it had DVD capabilities, that Wii sold because of motion Control or something like that. OR we could accept that they simply made the better choises and therefore won the generation?
This is, however, a completely different matter than that regarding the contraction of this generation. This generation will shrink massively compared to the 7th, and this will speed up the process for the big Three to move into streaming/multiple devices territory. And I think it is good for the industry as a whole, but for sentimental reasons I find it sad that we are seeing the end of the traditional console era Nintendo reignited with the NES.
