Im just pulling this out of my ass but I can assume the Neversoft was once a prosperous full team and now is a shell of its former self, whoever is left in Neversoft was moved over to IW, but I doubt it is a full team at this point. |
Obviously it was prosperous when their games were selling well. That's not exclusive to the gaming industry and certainly not exclusive to the modern gaming industry.
They made Tony Hawk games which were awesome back then, but also their latest, Proving Ground, which failed by Activion's standards (rightfully so).
Unfortunately (IMO) they didn't get another try after the debacle involving Ride and Shred.
Then they made Guitar Hero games which simply became irrelevant after a few years.
The studio belongs to Activision so they can do with it whatever they please. They could merge all of their studios into one and that still wouldn't mean that there is any workforce or potential games lost. Perhaps we will see another Tony Hawk game by Infinity Ward in the future.
