The american economy has been weak for ages now, i visited last year for a few months and got over $2 for every £1 which is amazingly good and that rate is still almost the same at the moment, A few years back i would of only got $1.50-$1.60 for a £1. This is the reson i picked up an american Wii rather than a PAL machine.
