They dont need to make an AAA game...

 

New games are needed in order for the industry to move forward. New games, new ideas, new perspectives. New original games attract new people into the gaming scene and sequels makes sure the ones in it stay. Remasters wont attract new people or make gamers more excited.

They don't need to make a new AA as well.

Not to mention, creating a game or even simply a new idea is very difficult. You don't create a good game on demand, especially if you want it to be succesful.

Not to mention how is a new AA supposed to compete with a Remastered AAA game?

No Audience + Mid Budget vs Large Audience + Low Budget (i.e cost)
