The Wii u is slightly better than the 360/ps3 graphics (which launched in 2005/2006) but worse than ps4/xbone (which launched in 2014) so let's just say the Wii U has graphics that were on par with good pc's during 2009 just to establish a base here. So, if the Wii U can use graphics that are roughly 5 years old, if when the next Nintendo fusion handheld launches in, let's say, 2017, you're saying you don't think that handheld will be capable of running at least graphics that were mastered in 2009 (about 8 years prior)?
The 3ds (which launched in 2011) clearly has better graphics (at least visually to me in the many games I've played on it) that are better than the gamecube (which launched in 2001). Granted, there is a 10 years gap between 3ds/gamecube whereas there is only a 8 years gap (based my my guess of dated technology in wii u) because wii u and the next fusion thing (if it comes).
