If the fault admitting was phrased so lightly that 90% of the people missed it then there probably was still a problem. Any "I was wrong" I saw instantly turned into a insult to "you nintendo fans at least I was less wrong than you guys(?)" sort of thing bringing in unrelated things from weeks ago to compare now and trying to defend/play down just being wrong.
