This was not a great month for the Xbox, as it lost a solid portion of its points/votes moonth over month. Nevertheless, Microsoft as a publisher was "saved" (aka above all third parties) by the Master Chief Collection. Perhaps the most surprising thing about it is how much more anticipated it is than even Halo 5, but considering the value of the package, I can't balme voters. Sunset Overdrive barely managed to top Microsoft's lineup. Also note that Quantum Break has pllummeted in recent months, as little new info about it has emerged.

Nintendo may not have won E3 from a platform manufacturer's point of view (though they might have), but they were the definite winner from a publisher's point of view. Some of these games were already known quantities, but Zelda, the #2 game of the month by a vote-thin margin, was first shown only a couple of weeks ago. Below it, we have games like Splatoon, Mario Maker, Captain Toad, Devil's Third, Kirby, STEAM, and Star Fox all announced. And already known quantities kept their point totals healthy.

Also, some food for thought: between the two Smash Bros iterations, Zelda U, and Hyrule Warriors, you have 306 points of games with Link as a playable character. Throw in Bayonetta 2, and a full quarter of the month's points went to titles with Zelda ties.

Conversely, look at that 3DS lineup. Eh...

Compared to Nintendo and Microsoft's offerings, Playstation continues to be a more 3rd party based platform. Nevertheless, Sony had a solid showing. Uncharted 4 was the obvious star, but Bloodborne also entered this feature with impressive numbers. LBP3 is more modest though, and other than those couple of games, PlayStation 4 fans seem more interested in games like Metal Gear Solid, Destiny, and Final Fantasy. On the Vita, meanwhile, Sony-publlished titles are a saving grace, responsible for two of the platform's four most anticipated games, despite even Sony saying that the Vita is becoming more of a 3rd party machine.

Love and tolerate.
