Nintendo - Zelda U graphics - View Post

I honestly think it's due to budget. Since Yamauchi, outside of a few small examples, development has been extremely consevative. They don't want to take risks with their money.

The difference between the 2011 Zelda and the 2014 Zelda is millions and millions of dollars. The same goes for Mario. A brand new, super epic Mario 64 part 2 would cost alot more to make than what we got instead which was basically a port of a 3DS game with HD graphics and a few gameplay tweaks.

Not only that, but it's also easier to animate and draw. But you are right, it is mainly due to budget/development. The thing is.. I wish Nintendo would risk it anyway, because the sales would more than make up for it. Super Mario 64 2 would've got people mega hyped for the Wii U... and sold double what 3D World has sold and would have gotten many people on board, including me. I have played 3D World, liked it, but it didn't make me want to purchase a Wii U at all.

I am so disappointed by the new art style.
