No time to read all of the posts but here's my theory. If people bash the Wii, Wii owners always have the "well just look at the sales charts arguement", so they don't let it get to them. If you bash an Xbox owner, they have the "well my software library is bigger than yours arguement".
When people bash PS3, their only defence is subjective arguement about why their system is better than the others, but no really solid defence that can be corroborated by data. So it bugs them that people can't see things from their point of view.
It may also be that there is a little more venom in the PS3 bashing due to the Nintendo and Xbox fans being on the receiving end for the last two generations....
