The PS3 is actually a pretty bad example, since you're looking at the whole library of an 8 year old system using that as a reference point. The PS3 started out really badly, with a poor library and a really high cost. What will the Wii U's library look like after its lifespan is up? No one said not getting 3rd party games would make the console better, what I'm saying is that the lack of 3rd party games does not immediately mean "doom".
If you want to talk about one of the stupidest things we've ever heard, it's that quantitiy is immediately better than quality. Your statement clearly says you prefer more games than less, with no mention or measure of reference to quality. I think therein lies the biggest problem with today's gamers. They'd rather have 5 mediocre games than 1 perfect game. If you want to push the limits in favor against the Wii U, let's say 5 titles in the 80/100 score range, and 1 game in the 90/100 score range. I'd prefer the one "great" game than five "good" ones, ESPECIALLY considering the point of the article: the one "great" game is only on ONE system. When I can get those five "good" games on PC, XBox1, PS4, XBox360, or PS3, it makes no compelling statement for any ONE of those systems. Catch my drift?
TWO BIG games a month?! Even the PS4 and XBox1 aren't pulling that off, you're crazy, lol |
According to your logic, Wii U Library could also never be as good as PS3 library , Nintendo could announce and release their new console in 2 years, we just dont know, so it's too early to make this thread and say it's a good or a bad thing, we'll see that at the end.
I would agree with your theory if there was a previous similar case in the history of consoles
