Third parties account for more than 60-70% of installed base. Without them and you're relying only on first and second party your following will dry up extremely quickly.
Seriously, Nintendo fans need to stop excusing the situation and just enjoy Nintendo games. Its all Nintendo's fault that they are in this position and their fanbase has to go elsewhere for third party.
