That lack of third party support is good for Nintendo

If you tune out the bitter Nintendo loyalists that you find on forums, you begin to realize that 3rd party support is paramount. Nintendo paved the way for a royalty based model back in the 80s and it has been working for them since. "3rd party support... 3DS".  Seriously though I can't think of any support outside of Japan for the 3DS outside of the launch year.

After of run of about 22 years.  From 1989 to 2011 (even post 3DS launch) Nintendo handheld has received much 3rd party support.

The 3DS has been around since 1989?  Holy crap!
