Hype and that yes probably. I mean it sold more on ps4 alone than Mario kart 8 has though. It's also because watch dogs was supposed to be this big next gen game.

i thought everybody pretty much knew, leading up to release, that it wasnt going to be this big next gen game though. not like everybody thought anyway. its just your average run of the mill game that only sold well because people needed something new on ps4.

Same could be said for Mario kart 8 and the Wii u, almost exactly, which is going through an even worse drought.
