I guess its safe to assume the 3DS version releasing first wasnt a HUGE MISTAKE :0

Wut?

I think releasing first on the 3DS was a mistake, but not as massive one.  Sales were slightly underwhelming on 3DS, but late ports (as with Resi: Revelations) are pretty doomed from the start because it's not really very attractive to pay full price for a game which is going for extremely cheap elsewhere (plus, 3DS -> PS3/WiiU port isn't particularly attractive in general).

Should've been multi-plat from the start.  Or they should have skipped the ports (but I have a feeling they were 90% for the west anyway, although I could be wrong on that).

Its hard to explain as the conversation wasnt necessarily about what your replying to. Let me ask this, if it were ps3/vita from the start (not 3ds), would it be much different in sales?

Anyway the thing me and Hiska are talking about was a user claimed it was a mistake to release on 3ds as its not meant for it (something along these lines), and he even claimed that it did terrible but as Hiska pointed out the reasons why it was wrong (he was comparing other one piece game sales to this one) he implied that people were waiting for the right platforms to get it (this case ps3/vita) and would prove that the games belong on those platforms.

Your right though with late ports as its not at full potential, but i cant believe ps3/vita would do beyond much better than what the 3ds game did. Same argument was said with Monster Hunter 4, yet its a huge success
