Nintendo isn't selling much because people want games that are grand and exciting, that couldn't be done on last-gen hardware. But most of their games so far have been stuff that's largely possible on the 3DS. "It doesn't matter if the game is fun!" is always what people say, but that's crap. It can't just be fun, it's got to be exciting, like MK8. If being fun was the only thing that mattered, NSMBU would have sold like crazy, and all of these 2D platformers the Wii U is getting would be selling the system. And yet, after the success of MK8, they show off a 2D Yoshi game and a 2D Kirby game. Yeah, I'm sure they'll be "fun," just like NSMBU was "fun," but I don't understand why they think they're going to sell systems with these games. We got more grand spectacle back on the N64. Literally three whole generations ago we were getting games that were bigger and more stimulating. |
Just wondering what you think of Wii. Most of the games could be done on Gamecube as far as power is concerned. Also what would you classify as games which are "grand and exciting" from past and the ones they can make in near future?
I promise i won't get mad at you even though you seem a fan of N64.
