Haven't played 3 yet, so for now it's a tie between white and purple. Nothing can catch a fully blossomed white. NOTHING. You never have to slow yourself down when they're following you. You never have to keep an eye on them while they carry stuff home, unless a monster or hazard is right in the path. They even find stuff in the ground. And I'm not even going to mention the main reason why most people use them.
