No we don't.
The last thing we need is for anyone to accuse this site of bias....and we all know which side would be accused of this if democracy were put in place.
ioi does a good job of appointing mods when the time is right. If someone really wants to become mod, I think the proper thing to do would be to send a message directly to ioi. From there, if ioi felt that it was at least up to debate, I'm sure he would present it to his moderators for them to deliberate on. I don't think he would respond to you....and the only way you would know if he liked the idea was if you became mod...but that seems the only way you would be taken seriously.
