:) He's a PR guy, he has to say these kind of things. Could he have said something better, sure, but he was probably interviewed tens of times across E3, sooner or later he was going to say something stupid.
He's right about one thing though, in terms of total numbers of systems sold, there isn't much separating the big 3 at the moment, not when you consider how many consoles are likely to be sold by the end of the generation. If you forget for a moment that the Wii U was released a year earlier (it actually doesn't matter that it was, it leaves Sony and Nintendo selling software to a comparable user base, which is where all the profit comes from) he is ignoring the momentum that Sony has at the moment and unless Nintendo can manufacture a rather massive turnaround in fortunes he is not going to be able to make anything like that claim this time next year.
