What a terrible comparison.
It's better to say that you dont currently need to buy more beer for your party because it's just starting, and the room isnt filled with people. But once the party starts picking up, you can quickly drop by the store and buy more. The preffered option would be to buy enough beer at the beginning, but the other option is not the end of the world either.

No, Nintendo can't QUICKLY drop by the store and buy more beer for the party. The store will not have WiiU-3rd-party-beer in stock, the breweries (EA, Activision, Blizzard, Ubisoft, Take 2...) have stopped producing that beer.
Even if Nintendo buys a smaller brewery (SEGA, Capcom, Konami...), they will not have the right kind of beer instantly. The restrucuring to WiiU-beer and the brewing process would take much time, especially if they want to brew high quality beer.
