Project Guard looks boring as hell. I haven't seen the Giant Robot thing, however.
Still, the man is making Star Fox and is also incremental in many of the developments going on in EAD. He has a lot on his plate. (You know, he is the General Division Manager of EAD or something.)
He still makes good games, just not good new IPs all the time. His last new IP was the Wii series which was revolutionary for the industry, even though many "gamers" tend to not like it. I say, if anything, Nintendo should just tell him to stop with his own projects. He can continue on in Nintendo as the GDM, but that's all.
