If Iwata never patched things up, who knows if Square Enix would be making games for Nintendo or not. Yoichi Wada, former Squaresoft president became Square Enix's president after the merger. So yes, those were the last games that Squaresoft as a company developed for Nintendo, but what about what was developed as Square Enix? Final Fantasy 4, 5, and 6 Advance, Final Fantasy 3 DS, 4, Dragon Warrior 4, 5, 6, 9, Bravely Default, etc?
I honestly wouldn't have minded if Iwata never got in contact with Squaresoft to fix things, because then we might have had more games with the quality of Crisis Core than FF4DS. Can you imagine FF4 PSP having graphics closer to Crisis Core but in a more fantasy style than the pathetic graphics we got with the DS version?
