That is what he has been doing already. He stopped being a major part in Zelda games before Skyward sword was released.


Which leads to the question, why aren't any of Nintendos other developers stepping up and being the main man then?


To my understanding its not like Nintendo is made of many smaller dev teams. Just the main one that does all the games. Apart from Zelda's Aonuma, and Smash's Sakurai.

I understand what you are saying, but that has been a fault of Nintendo for years. Previously they themselves only liked to work on their games. That has changed since then with games like Metroid Other M, Hyrule Warriors, etc. Even so I have been wishing Nintendo would expand with more workers for about 5 years now.
