Whoa, bro I think you might want to settle down there.

Nope, that is my justified opinion. A Link to the Past and Majora's Mask were tied as my favorite Zelda games for ten years now, and A Link Between Worlds is just an overall more polished game for a new player than A Link to the Past. I'd might argue that A Link to the Past has an overall more Zelda-format story, but if you make some analogies, their stories are pretty similar as well. A Link to the Past will always have a place in my heart as the best Zelda game, but that is mostly because of nostalgia. To all new players, I'd definitely recommend A Link Between Worlds over it. It has everything A Link to the Past had, but it's overall more polished and more acessible for a new player.

It doesn't jump into the game like Link to the Past does. Right from the get-go on Link to the Past, you basically have everything you need to kill everything, and go everywhere.

Are you sure you played A Link Between Worlds? You are at the first dungeon in 5 minutes and you can rent all of the items to use in any dungeon at any order for most of the game. It is by far the least linear and more compact of the two games.
