I think that mainly has to do with limited third party support, rather than good first party support.

For the Vita? Well it hasn't gotten much western support but there has been quite a few Japanese 3rd party games on the system, similar to the PSP really.

True, but I'd still say the disparity in quantity of third party games between the Vita and other PS consoles is bigger than the disparity in terms of first party.
