Please go and read "The Final Hours of Titanfall", or Google the text from it.
Titanfall would have been made with or without help from Microsoft. Respawn chose to go with Microsoft, as asking for more money and time from EA would have required some concessions (like giving up the IP to EA).

I don't know how much of that I believe. Didn't initially Zampella say he wasn't aware and disappointed that EA did an exclusivity deal with MS?

I thought that happened when EA said it was a lifetime exclusive and not a timed exclusive, with Vince thinking that it would eventually come to the PS platforms.
