| Imaginedvl said: The point is to be profitable first... So far the only people thinking that Microsoft is desperate (instead of adjusting their strategy to make more money) are Sony enthousiats... The profitability of HW is the priority, HW is profitable when more SW is sold on the system for the system. SW profitability is a secondary concern, especially as MS is the publisher not the developer. Even Microsoft shareholders do not have ANY problem with Xbox One performance, which while not being as good as PS4, is already very good. Do you truly believe that? Some people want their console/company to have success (which is understandable) while others are just hoping for the opposing console/company to fail (which is so weird...). And while those people are hoping so much, they totally forget that having one console selling better than the other does not equal a fail for the second :) You are entitled to ignore the writing on the wall. But if I wanted the Xbox to fail, I would be encouraging their bad ideas, instead I'm pointing out why these ideas are bad and what should be done instead. I've done the same with Nintendo and Sony. Keep your hasty generalizations to yourself. |
Desperate need =/= Desperation
Producing a Console is more of an investment then producing a game, so it makes more sense to prioritize HW over SW, anything else is lack of faith, either by MS themselves or the 3rd parties who were originally exclusive to their platforms but later published on other ones.
