I don't think there is a problem with the wii u design. I have a PS4 and have had every playstation console ever. I bought the MK8 bundle and must say I am impressed. The wii pad is awesome and a better designed than remote play. I like that it has all the shoulder buttons and isn't as awkward to hold as the vita. I like the tv control and the fact that it recognizes my family owned cable company. OK the graphics are not as good as the PS4 but It is newer than wii u.Maybe this was the right time for my first nintendo product but I am very pleased and don't feel I wasted $300 on it

This is what I've always thought about the Wii U, so many just don't give it a chance and try it out for themselves. The lingering perception of the Wii, the influence of the media and the apparently wrong so called 'common gamer's wisdom'  about the positioning of this console have all been weights dragging this brilliant console down. I've hardly seen anyone actually try out the Wii U and not like it. This is a console positioned to be all things to all gamers no matter their needs.

It is true Nintendo have a lot to do with Marketing and ensuring a healthy stream of first party games for the Wii U but I've always believed you can't keep a good 'console' down. The Wii U will rise. Hopefully some of the 3rd parties who earlier gave the Wii U a try will be encouraged to come back if the current momentum has some reasonable legs.
