MS isnt handling sunet overdrive, they are just paying for the development and allowing Insomniac to keep the IP. No different from Dead Rising dude. The games are fairly similar as well. They take what they can get.
As for MS having a hard on for what Sony does, yes you could say if Sony does something right they will copy it. Sony had all the third parties when MS joined so they realized after that gen they would have to beat Sony to the punch and get third parties on their side as well. Thats exactly what they did and that how they split the fanbase in half. 60-70% of gamers on consoles buy consoles strictly for multiplats.

MS is "handling" SO and DR3 by paying for it. That is what I meant. Funding exclusivity for 2 developers that have a rich history with Sony. Better to screw with Sonys interests then Nintendo's until their own internal studios are on their way.

Nintendo is no threat for Microsoft. They came for Sony. The profits in the gaming industry are a nothing for them. Microsoft creates disturbance for anyone they deem to be a threat. If you think this isnt true look up the expansion of Microsoft once multimedia grew. Anyone who has a multimedia device with its own os is a threat to MS if they cant control them.
