Oh just like Facebook? When they opened in the NASDAQ, stocks dropped badly and everyone was talking doom. A year later, their share almost doubled their opening. Investing is a long-term something, perhaps IPO stocks will raise if they remain getting huge profits and publish new games. OT: Sick that this little game can beat Nintendo & Sony's gaming division :( |
The difference between Facebook and King are very significant. Facebook has now established itself as the social networking site and as far as I can tell no competitor is on the horizon. People use Facebook for various reasons and it can market to thousands of different groups within its user base. Facebook's only challenge was users going from PC to mobile, and that never seemed like a huge issue to me. I should note I did do quite well on FB stock in 2013 for full disclosure.
King is not a diverse company, when a single IP is making 2/3 of your income that is shakey ground. Creative mediums demand rapid adaptation and new ideas. Candy Crush will wane and the odds are what ever King comes up with next will struggle to match such insane numbers. If they do manage another massive hit of course the stock will climb well into the 20s and possible 30s, but the question is are you willing to gamble on such a model? I know I am not.
