A graph showing how the 4 latest Nintendo home consoles have done at this point in time. It's sad to see Wii U doing worse than GameCube. It will be a miracle if Nintendo can turn Wii U around. What are your thoughts on this? (I personally love the Wii U and yes I know there's been tons of these already... but I wanted to give my take on it.http://nces.ed.gov/nceskids/createagraph/graphwrite.asp?ID=f8869529d354493793ef858dd055751e&file=png">

N64 was quite the performer too. If only Yamauchi had the sense to compromise on the CD-ROM issue and made the N64 a cart + CD system (the Saturn was so it wasn't impossible).

They would've won that generation by a landslide if they had done that, who knows in that case maybe Sony doesn't even bother with PS2.

Do you think the N64 having CD-ROM was really all it would´ve taken to stop the PS1 from taking off?..you know videogame history, so tell me, could the whole 'Nintendo handing the crown over to Sony' in the 5th gen really be reduced to just CD-ROM?...or was there more to it?

No CD-ROM probably meant the N64 missed out on hundreds of games it would've gotten otherwise, so it's not just one little thing. It also would've allowed N64 games to be cheaper which another problem for the system.

A system with Mario 64, GoldenEye, Final Fantasy VII, Zelda: OoT, Resident Evil, Mario Kart 64, Castlevania, etc. even if the third party stuff wasn't exclusive would've cleaned up.
