Personally i think the texture filtering is a bigger shame than the resolution (not the AA, that shit can burn in hell :p). While not exactly complex, it seems Nintendo went to the effort to ensure that what they did show was sharp and well connected textures; but then they get rather spoiled by the texture filtering.
The lighting is pretty excellent though. It wasn't something i was expecting them to put in, but the final result adds quite a nice flourish to the dark areas. It has a similar kind of look to the light we had in certain areas for R&C: Nexus, though that was static light rather than the dynamic light we see in MK8.
Also, on the stutter frame issue it will likely be patched. Unlike those (both Sony fans and Nintendo fans) that didn't actually read what DF said, it was a very minute issue, and even then it appears to be a timing issue within the WiiU rather than being caused by the game.
