I literally saw MK8 4 player split screen being played on a massive 70-80 inch screen yesterday at the London comic con expo. I will say, the game looks absolutely beautiful, even more than what you see on Youtube.
You really have to see the game running live on a large HD screen with your own eyes to appreciate how much the color pops and the details in the textures, 1080p or not. I don't even have a Wii U, but the game visually speaking as of now does not look any less impressive than the PS4 games I've been playing.
It really is that good and a MASSIVE step up from Mario Kart Wii, as one would expect.
