My 10 Favorites, in no particular order, and sticking with characters originating from games:
- Boss (Metal Gear Solid 3) - A great mix of the antagonist and mentor archetypes, a badass, and has a touching story.
- Glados (Portal) - One of gaming's most diabolical and hilarious characters. Bonus points for manually deleting her humanity.
- Kumatora (Mother 3) - The tough pink-haired tomboy who devotes her life to saving the world and is possibly the sturdiest party member mentally.
- Lucca (Chrono Trigger) - The genius engineer with fire magic, technological skills, nice subplots, and endearing sprite work.
- Palutena (Kid Icarus: Uprising) - The stereotypical 80's gaming princess gone horribly right!
- Rydia (Final Fantasy 4) - Has one of the more dramatic myth arcs of any character ivideo gaming.
- Samus (Metroid) - The silent, slightly insane mercenary who is paranoid and scarily competent.
- Shantae (Shantae) - She's just a cute and charming character whose fun to play as.
- Terra (Final Fantasy 6) - I personally identify with her struggles to find her identity, and she is a gameplay powerhouse.
- Tharja (Fire Emblem: Awakening) - Scary, devoted, scheming, and full of great dialogue to unlock. My favorite match for the Avatar when playing as a man.
