And who is to say MS steps up to the plate and pays for development of great games like Dead Rising 3 or Titanfall if not to improve their stable of games over the PS4? And good for Sony that they can do the same thing [voice recognition]. Not sure what that has to do with Kinect though. |
Live Gold vs PSN I guess is subjective preference, but Xbox layout controllers are easily available for PS4.
If you really find no value in a PS layout conroller, you can sell the included one to somebody else,
or buy a store display/refurb like this for just $329 without a controller and spend the difference on a Xbox layout PS4 controller.
MS did NOT pay for Titanfall development, it was already funded by EA, and MS progressively paid for launch and then total exclusivity.
Titanfall's lackluster engine was in fact chosen because it happened to be well optimized for PS3, originally a target platform.
Regardless, if those games sell then there is no reason they cannot be funded on a commercial 3rd party basis,
if they don't sell (or have prospects) then they aren't really adding much to the console in terms of popularity.
I mentioned voice recognition because it seems to be the one thing people usually bring up about Kinect that they actually like,
although of course it doesn't have any inherent tie to what Kinect's hardware does, that is the popular association,
that is the one concrete thing that does seem to be popular, what with the lack of actually compelling games strongly utilizing it.
