You just have to keep making this harder on yourself, don't you ? Linux IS an OS. That is a fact so you might want to go deal with it as soon as possible. We already told you why steam OS can't be based on windows and that's because Gabe Newell's idiotic paranoia means that he'll keep being anti windows and as well as the fact that Microsoft won't have anyone fucking around with windows source code. 

You literally just said that the reason Steam OS can't be on Windows was because they are both OS's so it literally can't, which makes no sence if Linux is also an OS. Now you're saying it's just because of a petty grudge, in which I ask again, why can't Gabe just get over himself and do what he's doing with Linux on the platform with more games?

That's not the question you asked ... You asked why it was not based off of windows and I clearly gave you an answer.

Even if Gabe got over himself, Microsoft still wouldn't let Valve fuck around with the source code ...
